The history surrounding the Hotel Bisanzio goes back to 1569. The sculptor Alessandro Vittoria, from the province of Trento and a student of the great Jacopo Sansovino, opens his studio. He finds one of the best locations in Venice, looking out onto St Mark's Basin and a short distance from the cultural and economic heart of the city, so that he might best express his ingenuity. In the same buildings, four centuries later in 1969, the Busetti family opens its hotel. The rest, two generations later, is history. From studio to hotel - a story of taste and elegance.
The Best Western Hotel Bisanzio has, in the bright light that pervades its internal features, one of the most valued characteristics. The use of white marble and light tempera, and the wood used for the walls and the visible beams, create an intimate and welcoming atmosphere.
In recent years the hotel has been the object of a restoration project using the latest safety and comfort technology. This was combined with the work of Dr Victoria Avery from the University of Warwick to restore the rooms that were used by Vittoria for his work.
